Ducey, Sandra Marie passed away peacefully on June 08, 2022 surrounded by family at the age of 76. Beloved Wife of William J. (Bill) Ducey. Loving Mother to Michael Ducey (Kathy), Trish Nesrallah (Joseph), Brian Ducey (Carole). Proud Grandma to Candice, Zack, Shane, Samantha, Teagan and Kaylee. Predeceased by her parents Cyprian & Florence Campbell, sister's Virginia, Patricia (Terry), brother's John, Don (Mary). Survived by brother Michael (Valerie), sister's Isabelle (John), Judy (Phil) and many nieces and nephews.
Sandra was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, later moving to Ottawa where she met her husband of 57 years. Living a military life, they had the opportunity to live across Canada and spend 5 years in Europe. Sandra set up home in many locations in Canada, from Nanaimo BC to St. John's NF. Being a private person due to frequent moves and raising an active family Sandra took her family responsibilities to heart. Her friends were forever and could certainly attest to the gregarious, fun-loving, loyal person that she was. Sandra had lived in 27 homes since she left Nova Scotia but always was proud of her Cape Breton roots and it showed in all her abilities to get things done. After retiring to Nanaimo Sandra always remained busy. She was an avid golfer; a game in which she became very proficient over the years. Adding 2 hole-in-ones in the same week to her collection of achievements on the golf course.
Funeral Service to be held June 16th at 1:00 pm at St. Peters Parish, 301 Machleary St, Nanaimo B.C. In lieu of flowers; donations to the Nanaimo SPCA (spca.bc.ca) in her memory would be greatly appreciated by the family.
