It is with broken hearts we announce that our beloved Ryan David Roy Hill died as the result of an overdose, following a long, hard struggle with addiction.

He was 35 years old. He had a very loving supportive family but drugs took a hold of his life, changed him in many ways and destroyed so much of the hope and promise of his future.

He enjoyed the great outdoors and loved adventure. He always had a creative mind and loved drawing and writing poetry. He had dreams of pursuing a career in welding. He was a kind young man always trying to help others.

He loved to read and was very spiritual. He had a love the the Dalai Lama, the spiritual head of Tibetan Buddhism. He really did want a "normal life", free of the chains of addiction.

Ryan was preceded in death by his grandparents Roy and Pat Hill, grandmother Marie Stacey, daughter Taylor, niece Isabella and Auntie Nora.

Ryan is survived by his mother Dawn (Glen) and father William Hill, sister Melissa (Calvin), brothers Christopher, Nicholas (Megan) and Marshall, grandfather Dave Stacey, children- beautiful daughter Kaija and handsome son Christian, aunties Michele, Margie and Colleen, uncle Andy, neices Ally and Avery plus many cousins and friends.

The family wishes to thank Doug Gibson for all of his kindness and continued support.

A Celebration of Ryan's Life will be held at the Courtenay Elks Hall at 2 pm on January 14, 2018.

Everyone welcome.
