Ryan was born in Port Alberni, the oldest son of Larry and Heather Mallory. He lived on Sproat Lake and enjoyed an active, outdoor lifestyle such as boating and fishing. Also, Ryan was very talented in art, sports and leadership. He attended Sproat Lake Elementary, Klitsa Junior Secondary and after Grade 9, attended Shawnigan Lake Boys School. There, Ryan was on the rowing team, rugby team and learned how to speak Spanish. Some of his closest friends at Shawnigan would remain in contact with Ryan for many years to come. The BEST MAN at his wedding, was Mike Fuller and he attended Shawnigan. Ryan returned to Alberni District Secondary School, in Port Alberni and completed Grade 12.

Next Ryan moved to Victoria and attended Camosun College, where he enrolled in the carpentry program. He also worked part time, when he was attending college. After he became trained, Ryan moved to Puerto Rico, where he used his Spanish speaking skills to assist in building projects, and working with Puerto Rican tradesmen.

Later, Ryan worked on many projects around B.C. and Alberta, Fort McMurray in particular. In Fort McMurray, he started to invest in rental properties, and renovated both the inside of his house and the outside grounds. He was very skilled in doing cement projects. He decided to return to Calgary and renovated the interior and exterior of 3 houses in the North West area. He became engaged to Kosha Harink and they were married in 2007.

Ryan worked on the Calgary International Airport expansion project, notably the International Terminal. He found it very challenging, doing the cement projects.

Ryan was a devout church member. He attended Crescent Heights Baptist and was always a happy, faithful volunteer there, in his spare time. He helped repair areas of the church and brought in scaffolding to repair ceilings, etc. He volunteered as a camp counselor at Camp Makaway at Sylvan Lake in the summers.

In his spare time, Ryan enjoyed taking his son Nicholas to hockey practices/games and travelling. In 2017, he and his family travelled on a ten day trip to ORLANDO, Florida to visit Disney World. His son, Nicholas and Isabelle also visited Gator World there, and did a zip line over the alligator pond! What a thrill!

In the kitchen, Ryan could make an excellent Strawberry Trifle and Eggs Benny. He enjoyed entertaining and invited neighbors over as well as long time friends/relatives.

Ryan's favorite saying was (DON'T SPECULATE)- just dwell on the facts!

The fact was, that Ryan was an awesome son, father, nephew, uncle and brother and he will be forever in our hearts and minds.

"AS WE BECOME MORE AWARE OF THE TRUE PRESENCE OF GOD, AT THE VERY CENTER OF OUR BEING, INNER PEAE WILL BE THE RESULT" (Dennis Merritt Jones, D.D.)
