May 17, 1950 - April 5, 2022
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ruth Frances Sparrow, on Tuesday April 5, 2022, after a long battle with COPD and cancer. Ruth was born, Ruth Frances Paradis, in Duncan, BC and passed away on April 5, 2022, in Courtenay. Ruth lived a full life, even through her ill health in the last few years. Ruth had a great memory, best in the family, and she always had many stories of friends and family. She knew how to tell great jokes, which everyone enjoyed and looked forward to.
Ruth enjoyed her beer, and she was always up for a game of cribbage or spite and malice with her close friend Maggie, or whoever would play. A special thanks to her friend Val for coming to visit when she could no longer go out. Ruth had a lot of friends, and we would like to thank them all for being there for her.
Ruth was a small woman with a big heart. Ruth was predeceased by her father and mother, Phil and Nellie Paradis and her sister, Sylvia Hardy. Ruth leaves behind her brother, Leo (Connie); her sister, Judith; her four children; her sons, Karl (Inga), Joe (Kelly) and Yancy (Amanda); her daughter, Kelly (Tony), as well as 13 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and may nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her long-time best friend and companion, Ron Zahara, who was always there for her. We would also like to thank all the doctors, nurses and paramedics who were there for her when she needed them the most.
We also want to thank all the home care who came to her home and took care of her.
A special thanks to Albert, Char, and Tony which were her favourite care workers.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. We all loved her dearly and will miss her.
Rest in Peace "Ruthie"
