Died at the age of 82 on November 10, 2017 with his family by his side after a short battle with cancer.

Russ was born on January 29, 1935 in Preeceville, Saskatchewan.

He was predeceased by parents Colin and Olive, and siblings Ken, Shirley and Irene (Bubs).  Russ is survived by Aileen, his wife of 59 years, brother Jim (Tig) and children Jeff, Allison (Monte) and Dan (Sue) as well as grandchildren Erin, Ben, Jessica, Shelby, Jason and Adam.

Russ started working as a longshoreman in 1959 until his retirement.  He loved his sports and faithfully followed the Blue Jays.

Russ had horses for many years and horse racing was always a sport he followed closely.  Always curious, Russ and Aileen had many travel adventures throughout their life together.  Tall Timbers Holiday Park at Sproat Lake was also a very special place for Russ and his family.  Next summer, the first beer will be raised for Russ.

A celebration of life will be held some time close to Christmas with details to come.

If you choose, donations may be sent to the Cowichan Hospice House Project.
