FOWLIE, RUSSELL
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Russ in his home in Courtenay on June 15, 2017 at the age of 71. Russ was predeceased by his parents, Jim and Brenda Fowlie of Port Alberni. He is survived by his loving wife, Jean of 48 years and his son, Kevin of Port Moody, his twin sister Margaret Groeneveld (Bill) of Port Alberni, brother Norman of Fort McMurray, in-laws Rob McArthur (Yvonne) of Port Alberni, Tom McArthur (Heather) of Ladysmith, and numerous nieces and nephews. Russ leaves behind numerous good friends that he cherished greatly. Russ spent all of his working career in the tire industry up and down the island. He showed a lot of people how to change and repair tires the proper way. He lived his life his way.
The family would like to express a thank you to Dr. Crowe and Dr. Kimberley for their kind words. Also to the wonderful Palliative Care team for their efforts. At Russ’s request, there will be no service and the family will hold a gathering of family and friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate in the memory of Russ to the
