Once the war ended, she married Merchant Seaman, Alan Stanley May and emigrated to South Africa living in Durban and Empangeni in Zululand for 15 years where their two sons were born.
Leaving behind many memories they returned to Cornwall England to help their family run a successful resort (Summerleaze Beach Hotel).
In 1972 they arrived by Ship via the St. Lawrence and set foot on Canadian soil, by train and settled in Richmond, B.C. Ten years later they settled in the Cowichan Valley in 1982 with the purchase of Rosebank Court, hands in with family, in the Coopers Restaurant and Nightshift.
