Born April 25, 1942 in Vancouver, BC, Roy passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family on March 16, 2018.
Roy was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Survived by his family; his sons Steve (Eron), Bill (Sandra), stepdaughters Christine (Marc) and Karen, Grandsons Jakob & Eric. Predeceased by his wife Arlene, sister Wanda and brother Carl.
Roy was a BC Transit Operator for 31 years with over a million miles of safe driving. Roy spent many years at Honeymoon Bay with family and friends. He was a champion lawn bowler and also enjoyed shuffleboard and darts. Roy was known for his dry sense of humour and his great one-liners.
He had a gentle soul and touched many hearts. He will be sadly missed. A special thank you to the doctors and nurses at Cowichan District Hospital for their dedicated care of Roy and the support for the family, which helped us through this difficult time.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday March 23, 1 pm-5 pm at Eagles Hall, 2965 Boys Rd, Duncan, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the BC Cancer Society.
