1929-2020 ~ It is with sadness we announce the sudden passing of Roy Archibald Wensley from Duncan BC (formerly) from Wiseton Saskatchewan at the age of 90 years old.
In the end, he was well known as the oldest paper boy on Vancouver Island, primarily in Duncan delivering over 600 papers weekly and proudly known as a very respected, hard working, farmer/entrepreneur from Wiseton Saskatchewan.
He always said,"The day I retire is the day I will leave this world." True to his word with his strong work ethic, he did just that!
He was a founding member of Wiseton Lions Club and member of Mill Bay Lions Club, Duncan Elks Lodge and Duncan Eagles just to name a few of many organizations he was passionate about.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Shirley Wensley from Duncan BC and their children Dawn Kasur and Michael Wensley. His children Laurie (Gwen) Wensley, Rosemary (Verne) Slywka, Diana (Cliff) Harris and Jeff (Barb) Wensley, and their mother Lena Higgins, his sister Ruth Mogenson, many nieces, nephews, ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The family would like to send out a special thank you to Marilyn Klizs and the residents of On the Park Condominiums for their amazing support during this sad time.
Due to COVID restrictions there will be no formal funeral service at this time. Cremation has taken place and a private burial will take place at a later date.
If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to charity of one's choice.
