August 18, 1932 – July 13, 2020
It is with sad hearts that we say goodbye to our loving mother, grandmother and friend, Rosa Forrest Christensen on July 13th, 2020.
Mom was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on August 18th, 1932.
She met the love of her life, Lars, while working at the YMCA. They married in 1952 and moved to Calgary, Alberta and then settled in God’s country, Ladysmith, BC in 1967. Raising five children, Mom was a gifted homemaker, avid gardener, quilter and prolific reader. She was a devoted member of St. Johns and St. Phillips Anglican churches and woman’s group (A.C.W) for many years.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Lars (2018), son Carl (2016), daughter Anne (2008), and son-in-law John (2008). She leaves behind her loving family, daughters Rosa Mette (Brian), Inge (Dan), son Paul (Kris), daughter-in-law Karen and son-in-law Martin, 10 grandchildren Jennifer (Jethro), Erik (Natalie), Adam (Sally), Daniel, Ryan (Colleen), Jamie (Jason), Lena, Emily (Jordan), Jesse, and Joe. She was a great-grandmother to 3: Arlo, Eli and Myra.
Mom moved to Lynn’s care home in February 2020 where she received exceptional care and friendship. Thank you to Lynn, Cam and Linda for the loving kindness you gave Mom. Also thank you to the emergency staff at NRGH.
We will miss Mom’s graciousness, strength and love of life. A service will be held at a later date.
Please, remember to stop and smell the roses… life is short.
