June 26, 1937 - April 2, 2021
"Bunky" passed away Good Friday, April 2,2021 at Oyster Harbour (The Lodge on 4th) after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Ladysmith, the third son of a pioneer family, Uncle Ron was a quiet man with a lifelong passion for trout fishing, hunting and horse racing. In later years you could find him at his favourite "haunt", the Casino, in Nanaimo.
After working for Crown Zellerbach Logging Company in his younger years, he went to work as a Longshoreman with Local 508 of the ILWU for 35 years, retiring in January of 2000.
He was predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Verona (Mayovsky), his brothers Gerald and Lawrence, and sister-in-law Mary. He is survived by his nephews: Kevin (Janet) and Brian (Pam) and their families.
We would like to "Thank" the Staff at Oyster Harbour for their kindness and care to our Uncle during the past few months.
There will be no service by request.
Donations in his memory will be appreciated to the:
BC Cancer Foundation,
