It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Ronald George Foy. He is survived by his children Kerry (Rick), Janice (Marna), Kelly (Lyn), Todd (Cindy) as well as 7 grandchildren, great grandchildren and recently a great great grandchild.
Ron was a Korean War Vet and took great pride in participating in Remembrance Day services. He was a volunteer for the Alberni Sea Cadet Corp for several years and felt privileged to be able to mentor youth.
Ron loved boating and fishing and built his own cabin cruiser for his fishing excursions on the Alberni canal. Ron was a hard worker and retired from his job at the Alberni paper mill after over 40 years.
He was quite the handyman and was always quick to help a friend or neighbour. Ron was a real animal lover and in his later years it was the love of his "puppies" that brought great comfort to him. Thank you to the staff at Broadmead Lodge for their care and support of Dad. Also, a special thanks to Betty, his companion at Broadmead Lodge.
You are dearly missed Dad, especially your mischievous smile. No formal service with be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ron's memory to the BC SPCA.
