1935-2021 ~ It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Ronald Eriksen - March 4th, 2021, at the age of 85.
Ron was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Margorie, son Kevin and grandson Lucas.
Ron is survived by his loving wife Margret of 64 years, sons Danny and Steven, granddaughters Karryn, Tara, and Abbie, and grandson Brayden, as well as sisters Sharon Deboek of Grand Forks and Cookie Nyberg of Castlegar.
Ron was born in 1935 in Rossland BC. Eventually Ron moved his small family to Vancouver Island and became an instrument mechanic at the Crofton Mill, where he worked for 37 years until his retirement in 1996.
In his younger years Ron was an avid fisherman and hunter. He spent his days attending sporting events with his kids, coaching, playing the guitar, camping and hanging out at the family property in Port Renfrew. Ron was the epitome of a great family man and was always up for a family get together and some competitive rounds of horseshoes, darts or 31.
As a retiree, Ron spent his spare time at Cowichan Golf Course and perfecting his home brew wine skills. One could always count on a nice happy hour at the Eriksen's. In Ron's own words, he "had a good life" and his family will mourn their loss but cherish the lifetime of memories they have.
A celebration of life will follow after COVID restrictions are lifted.
