On August the 3rd 2021 Ronald "Bruce" Field known to some as Butch, passed away while sitting in his favorite chair listening to music.
Bruce was pre deceased by his wife Bev, his mother Lil, his father Ron, his Brother Grant, and brother in laws Runar, Richard, Ray and Ron and mother in law Rose and Father in law Hector as well as many other relatives and friends.
Bruce loved his family and friends and had many hobbies and interests throughout his life. He loved the outdoors and throughout his days on earth he enjoyed hiking, snorkeling, hunting, fishing, reading, history and collectables. In his later days Bruce became an avid gardener growing grapes, berries, apples, pears, figs and plums often offering to share them with his neighbours. Bruce was a loving father, hard worker (at Field Sawmills for almost 40 years) and notorious corny joker. While Bruce had many loves and interests his greatest love was his wife Bev. Bev suffered with Chronic Progressive MS for over 40 years until she passed on January 20th 2021. Throughout Bev's long battle with MS Bruce honored her wish to live at home as long as possible, providing 24/7 care to her for decades before it was just no longer possible. This was a great labour of love and an incredible sacrifice to which he never complained and was happy to do.
Ultimately all of the people who rallied behind Bruce while living his life and supporting his wife Bev during her battle with MS are the people he is survived by. Whether it be relatives, friends, neighbours, healthcare workers, the family would like to thank each person who paid visits, stood by them, was a shoulder to cry on or someone to have a tea and laugh with. I would like to thank my family and friends for the love and support offered at this time in respect to the passing of Bruce and would like to give special thanks to Bruce's sister Lynne, and his friends Otto, Judy, Gerry and neighbour Hakim.
