September 25, 1945 - March 31, 2022
It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Ron at the Evergreen Palliative Care Unit on March 31, 2022, after a brief battle with cancer.
Ron was born in Bengough , Saskatchewan on September 25 1945. Predeceased by parents Aloysuis and Olga Spooner and his older sister LetitiaAnn Vancuren.
Ron is survived by his partner Diane Luocks and family, his five children; Stephen (Kerry), Kevin (Jennifer), Rondalyn (Chris), Jeffrey and Byron (Scotia).
Grandchildren: Jesse Spooner, Crislynn Spooner, Jaydlin Spooner, Sara Spooner, Emily Spooner, Dawson Spooner, Brylin Spooner, Brooke Stansfield, Landen Stansfield, Mason Spooner, and Austin Stansfield.
Siblings: Robert (Irene) Spooner, Janet (Alvaro) Resicini, Dan (Debbie) Spooner, Celeste (Raymond) Harper, Valorie Spooner, and Greg(Diane) Spooner.
Numerous cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Ron became a red seal carpenter in Saskatchewan and moved to Campbell River in 1968 where he built a reputable business and reputation as a skilled contractor. Ron made every job site fun with song and entertainment along with his expectation of excellence. Over the years he was also well known for his love of hanging out with friends and family "suckling" beer while wearing his Blue hard hat- the BS was thick you can be sure.
We smile as we picture Ron reuniting with all his buddies and relatives who have already passed. What a PARTY that must be.
One of Ron's hobbies was to tinker with food, his ability to combine various spices for smoked salmon, pickled fish, sausages, cured ham etc was legendary and inter-provincial. lol
Ron's family would like to extend a huge Thank you to the Evergreen Palliative Care team for their love and compassion given to our family and Dad in his final days.
A Celebration of Ron's life will be held on May 7, 2022 at the Campbell River Community Hall from 1:30-4:30.
