Ron was 17 years old when he began work at Sealed Power Corporation (SPX) in Stratford, Ontario, a company which made piston rings for the big three auto manufacturers, USA.
His first job was loading metal castings weighing 40+ pounds from railroad cars onto a trolley and pushing it into the factory.
The bosses watching him said, "We'd better bring him into the plant before he kills himself." This began a 42 year career from Factory Worker to Foreman, Plant Manager to Salesman becoming CEO for SPX Canada. He retired at 59 years old.
As a boy and a man Ron loved fishing. Moving to British Columbia, he bought his boat, Shiloy and pursued his hobby becoming "Captain Ron", a successful fishing captain.
Ron was to know heartbreak in his life when Lois, his first wife and mother to their four children; Terry, Rickey, Debbie and Darrin passed away with cancer.
Later he met his second wife Barbara, 43 years married, bringing four more children: Chris, Cathy, Steve, Adrian. He is survived by Sister Betty, wife, Barbara and seven children. Daughter Adrian, passing in March 2021.
Ron loved God. In his home, with family around him, he has gone on to his next great adventure. We love you, Ron.
