In loving memory ~
Ron left this world July 30, 2022. Pre-deceased by his step-son Laurence, he leaves behind his beloved wife Eleanor, son Bradley (Julie), daughter Sandra (David), step-daughter Tara (Brent), grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also leaves behind many wonderful friends, his niece Debbie and family, nephew Scott as well as his cousins Phyliss and Dorothy.
Ron Retired after a long and successful career with the Bank of Montreal, and he and Eleanor moved back to his beloved B.C. where they became active members of the Ladysmith Power Squadron.
This was important for them as they were not only learning the boating world, but also making lasting friendships.
Ron's real love was music. As a boy he became a member of the Kitsilano Boys Band, enjoying two tours to England, which were very successful and produced many treasured lifelong memories. When he came to the Island he became a member of the Nanaimo Concert Band, where he played his trumpet and absolutely loved it. Ron also formed a popular Dixieland jazz group known as the Dixie Down Beat.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on September 18, 2022, at the Nanaimo Golf Club.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian National Institute of the Blind guide dog program are welcome.
