May 8, 1959 - May 14, 2020
It is with a very heavy heart that I must announce the death of my incredible wife and partner, Bobbi Howard-Muir. More than a decade after being diagnosed with breast cancer, her battle to be an integral part of this world ended on Thursday May 14, 2020. Bobbi chose to die at home, surrounded by loving friends and family. Bobbi had just turned 61 years of age the previous week.
Bobbi was born on May 08, 1959 in Saskatchewan and she remained a staunch Rider fan - and team owner - up until her last breath. She loved being a part of the Canadian Armed Forces both as an officer and later as a senior manager for almost forty years. Bobbi was the ultimate volunteer and throughout her life she gave more than she received, and she always looked for a way to contribute.
Bobbi was a proud graduate of Miller High, the University of Manitoba - the Harvard of the West as we like to call it - and Royal Roads University. She loved diving, cycling, swimming, golfing, broomball, Zeus and Thor and travelling the world.
Bobbi will be missed by all of those that loved and cherished her, and the world has lost a person of remarkable character, intelligence, and heart. From her siblings, Donna (Ray), Pat (Randy), James (Ron), and Kathleen (Wallace), other family members, dear friends, and myself, I ask that you do everything you can to honour Bobbi's memory by choosing to be the best person that you can be each and every day. She volunteered locally at Therapeutic Riding, Boomer's Legacy, Habitat for Humanity and the Airforce Museum, so contributions to any of those fine organizations would be greatly appreciated.
I personally would like to thank the team at the Cancer Clinic in Victoria, the incredible doctors and nurses at our local cancer clinic, and to her wonderful family physician Dr. Rachel McKenzie and finally to Dr. Reggler and his team for the respectful, informative, and caring application of MAID.
A celebration of life will be organized, Covid19 permitting, in the fall.
Until then: Mens Sana in Corpore Sano.
