September 29, 1958 - July 1, 2021
It is with profound sadness and broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Robert William Favel.
Robert was predeceased by his loving wife Sheryl and mother Doris Land.
He leaves to mourn his passing - children Nicole (Edmund), Kyle (Melissa), Stefanie and Taylor; grandchildren Payton, Tanner, Makenna and Elyanna; siblings Terry, Lucielle, Sandra (Wayne), Charlotte (Bill) and Norma; numerous nieces and nephews as well as extended family and his best friend Ron Barclay.
Rob was a devoted husband and father who loved his family. Rob was what some would refer to as a gentle giant. He was a man of few words but always full of great comebacks and wit when you least expected it.
Rob was very calm and laid back, happy to help anyone who needed it. Rob was a captain with the Beaver Creek fire department and has been with them for 28 years.
He loved volunteering and helping anyway he could with community events and fundraising. Rob was actively involved with the First Responders program as well. Rob loved his children and grandchildren with all his heart.
Rob was able to retire almost 3 years ago and was excited to travel when he was able to enjoy a couple vacations. An Alaskan cruise and a trip to Mexico. He enjoyed listening to classic rock, visiting with friends and neighbors and relaxing, enjoying the simple things.
Thank you to the nurses and doctors in palliative care. And the incredible team of nurses and doctors at WCGH who made his last few days as comfortable as possible.
"And think of him as living
In the hearts of those he's touched... For nothing loved is ever lost And he was loved so much"

A service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to our local cancer society.
