1959 ~ 2018. It is with sadness that the family announce the passing of Rob on November 19, 2018 at Foothills Hospital, Calgary, Alberta with his family by his side.
Rob was predeceased by his father Royce (1986), his mother Iris (2004), and his brother Jamie (2001); he is survived by his loving wife Judy, his daughter Colleen (Chris), grandsons Jacob and Riley - all of Cochrane, AB, his siblings Gayle (Kingston, Ont.), Patty (John) and Jan - both of Port Alberni, BC, Susan (Irv) of Sidney, BC, Martha (Dennis) of Ladysmith, BC, Mary of Valemount, BC, Peter (Lynda) of Maple Ridge, BC; his father-in-law Gordon Fraser of Victoria, BC, brothers-in-law Danny of Ecuador and Wayne (Raji) of Port Alberni, BC, sister-in-law Kimberly (Barry) of Comox, BC and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many good friends.
Rob was born in Montreal, Quebec; the first five years of his life were spent in the Laurentians (Quebec); he then moved to Port Alberni, BC (January 1965) when his father found work on the West Coast. He started working in the Construction Industry at the age of 16, first as a labourer, then working for the GVRD as a foreman in the Water District and moving to Alberta to work in the Fibre Optics Industry laying pipe. He loved the outdoors - rafting on the Bow, campfires.. more than that he loved his family; especially his grandsons (the light of his life) Jacob and Riley.
He will be missed; by all that knew him.
The family would like to thank Dr. Corey, Sandy Anderson and the staff (3rd Floor Unit) at Foothills Hospital.
