Robert Lee (Bob) Trimmer passed away May 15, 2022 at his home in Courtenay, B.C. after a three year long battle with Melanoma (Cancer). He has left his loving wife Myrna, and best friend of almost 50 years; his son Derek (Dr. Leslie Hamilton) and granddaughter Paige; his daughter Kristy (Mike Ivanic) and granddaughter Charlie; his mother Dorothy Trimmer, sister Patti (Hubert Rommens); brothers-in-laws, sisters-in-laws; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Robert Lee (Bud) Trimmer Sr. and his grandparents, Lee and Ada Trimmer and Dan and Mary Vescarelli.
Bob was raised in Duchess, Alberta and spent over 40 years working a threegeneration farm caring for registered cattle and growing various crops with his father and grandfather. After retiring, he moved to Courtenay with his wife Myrna and took up golfing. Though he greatly valued the friendships he made and time spent on the course, he could never quite figure out why anyone would consciously choose to be out in the sun chasing around a little white ball. He enjoyed Friday lunches for thirteen years with friends as another fun ritual. He felt he had retired to paradise.
Bob was a kind, gentle and generous man; a loving father and a devoted husband. Though he was a man of few words, he was never shy to lend a helping hand to those around him, generously donating both time and resources to numerous organizationsthroughout his lifetime. Bob’s passing has left many broken hearts and he will be truly missed.
Bob and his family are deeply appreciative of all the kind and dedicated doctors, nurses, technicians, and other staff too numerous to mention that were vital in giving Bob more time with his wife, adult children, and two precious granddaughters, his pride and joy. Also a special thanks to our Comox Valley family, for their kindness and friendship, especially over these last three years. We also want to thank all our family and friends for the cards, calls, texts, emails, visits , flowers, food and supporting us in a variety of ways.
Bob was a no fuss kind of guy and wanted no formal service. In lieu of flowers, we would appreciate donations to the B.C. Cancer Foundation for Melanoma Research so others may also have more time, or a charity of your choice. Obituary
