Robert Lawson Mead, 92, of Chemainus, British Columbia, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at the Chemainus Health Care facility. Lawson (Bob) was born December 27, 1926 in Armstrong, British Columbia to Lawson and Marcella Mead.

He came to Chemainus at the age 18 where he began working at the Chemainus Sawmill and later Copper Canyon Logging Division. On August 13, 1960 he married the love of his life Kathryn Millard in Chemainus and had three daughters. He was actively involved in the Chemainus Fire department for over 30 years. He retired at the age of 62 and joined the Chemainus Seniors' Center. He enjoyed dancing, gardening, reading, and puttering in his workshop.

Lawson is survived by his wife of 58 years, his daughters Sherry Lynn Mead and Kim Myfanwy Mead; along with his two granddaughters Gillian May Guest and Emily Kay Guest; and many loving nieces, nephews, and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Anne Knight, and his eldest daughter Shelly Anne Mead who passed away in March of this year.

The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the people at the Chemainus Healthcare Facility for their loving care and support these last two years. A service will be held at 1:00 pm, December 27, at St. Michael's and All Angels Anglican Church, 2858 Mill Street, Chemainus, BC, followed by a tea in the hall to celebrate his life.
