Robert John "Bob" West-Sells died unexpectedly on July 17, 2019 in Campbell River, BC at the age of 73.
Bob is survived by his wife Linda; brother, Bill; children, Paul and Kristine; stepchildren Ben, Lionel, Ryley, Sasha, Carma and Hollie. He is preceded in death by his previous wife Jane.
Bob was born on August 16, 1945 in Winnipeg, MB to Charles and Lillian. He graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1968 with a degree in Civil Engineering. After graduation he started his career with Dayton & Knight, a North Vancouver based engineering company. After welcoming his first child, Paul, he moved his family into a house that he built himself in Gibsons, BC.
In 1974 Bob moved to Kimberley, BC where he would spend most of his life. He worked for the City of Kimberley, working first as the City Engineer and eventually becoming the City Administrator. In Kimberley, he welcomed his second child, a daughter Kristine in 1976.
Bob moved back to the north shore of Vancouver in 1990 where he worked for the District of North Vancouver. He retired from the District in 2001 at 56 years old.
Bob's started his retirement by moving back to Kimberley to fulfill a lifetime dream of being a gentleman farmer. While he was there he returned to the municipal government as a councilor for several years. He stayed in Kimberley until 2011, when he moved to Campbell River.
Bob will always remembered for his kind heart, gentle spirit and unique sense of humor
