On July 21, 2018, Bob Goodwin passed away peacefully at West Coast Hospital in Port Alberni after his battle with pancreatic cancer. Friends and family were by his side and will miss him dearly. His father, John Robert Goodwin, predeceased Bob. His mother Del Goodwin, brother, Rick Goodwin (Linda) and two nephews, Russell and Jackson, survive him.

Bob grew up in Montreal, Quebec with his family where he graduated with a BA degree in Business Administration from Concordia University. After graduating, Bob moved to Bamfield, B. C. where he worked for the Canadian Coast Guard and later worked for the Bamfield Fire Hall. For several years, Bob owned and ran the general store in Bamfield. He eventually sold it to pursue his lifelong passion of playing music.

Bob recently retired in Port Alberni, B. C. where he enjoyed many hours in his dedicated music room. He and his friends would jam until the wee hours in the morning. Bob also spent endless hours at the dog park with his beloved dog, Sheba. There he met and made many dog loving friends. Bob also enjoyed playing the role of auctioneer at the annual Harvest Dinner and Auction at the Bamfield Fire Hall for many years.

Bob's family would like to thank his friends for all their support during his last months with us. Thank you to the Palliative Care staff in Port Alberni and the staff at the West Coast Hospital. Contributions in Bob's honor are welcome at the Bamfield Fire Hall or the Port Alberni Dog Park.

A Celebration of Life was held on August 18th in Port Alberni.
