Robert James Dadds

October 23, 1933 – September 24, 2023
In Loving Memory ~
Robert James Dadds passed away peacefully after spending the last part of his life’s journey with dementia. Left to remember him are his wife, Flo, of 67 years, their three children, Alan (Maija), Heather (John), and Sylvia (Franz), along with their seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Robert was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces for 25 years, serving as both an Army Signaler and a Peacekeeper. His career brought him and his family to many places across Canada and overseas. After the military, Rob joined the Corps of Commissionaires and served an additional 10 years.
Bob (Rob) was never happier than when he was in the great outdoors: sailing to the Great Bear rainforest, canoeing around Haida Gwaii or on the Yukon River, river rafting the Tatshenshini, and visiting by water many other destinations on Vancouver Island.
He was a life time member of both Morrell Nature Sanctuary and Nanaimo Paddlers Canoe and Kayak Club, volunteering his time and enjoying the great outdoors.
If desired, donations in Rob’s memory can be made to the Morrell Sanctuary Society.
A celebration of life will be held at Morrell Nature Sanctuary in Nanaimo on October 22, 2023, at 1:00 p.m.
Sail Away! Sail Away!
