November 29, 1946 - July 12, 2019
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, with his daughters Carolyn and Therisa by his side, Robert Douglas Lowe passed away at the Campbell River Hospital on July 12, 2019.
Born in North Vancouver, B.C. on November 29th, 1946; Bob lived in various places such as Roberts Creek, Powell River, many years in Port Hardy on Vancouver Island and spent the last few years residing in Campbell River, B.C.
Bob held the callsign VE7WXN and was active on the HAM bands for a very long time. He knew many people in the HAM radio community and spoke fondly of the radio group. His friends have referred to him as a "guy who knew something about everything." This was true! We will miss his quick wit, good sense of humor and interesting stories.
Therisa and Carolyn would like to extend their gratitude to the following people; a heartfelt appreciation goes out to Dad's circle of friends who have been so helpful, to Dr. Atwell and his staff who were always available and so kind, to Dr. Naicker who always went above and beyond, and to the staff at the Victoria Cancer Lodge. Dad loved Carl's live music nights there! Our family would also like to send a special thank you to Bill, Nancy and Aaron and all the staff of Sealand Aviation for their patience, support and understanding during this time.
Services to held in Port Hardy, B.C. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Bob's name to the Victoria Cancer Lodge as Bob always spoke highly of their staff and facility.
Bob's Celebration of Life will be held in Port Hardy on August 10th, 2019.
