June 5, 1943 - July 12, 2022
Bob passed away suddenly on July 12th after a motorcycle accident. He leaves to mourn his wife Jennifer of 26 years, her children Nicole (Al) and Rob, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, his brother-in-law Buzz (Cheryl), Davey the cat and his loving companion (and fur baby) Ginny.
He is survived by his three children Gladys, Linda and Robert, three grandchildren (Loy, Wylie and Kali) his sisters Loraine (Peter), Shirley (deceased) and many family members.
Bob was born in Vancouver, B.C. but spent the better part of his early years in Little Fort, B.C. where he raised his three children and enjoyed many years of fishing and camping with them. Throughout his life he worked on oil rigs, pipelining, drilling and blasting all over B.C.
Jennifer and Bob met in 1994 and married in 1996. They moved to Vancouver Island in 2008 where they made many friends and wonderful neighbours. He enjoyed many years travelling with Jennifer to Mexico, the Caribbean and cruising.
He loved his motorcycle and all of the rides he did with his good buddy and brother-in-law, Buzz and friends. He was an avid gardener who loved his veggie and flower gardens, working in his shop and carving wood burls.
In 1998 Bob formed his own company, Rowan Drilling and Blasting. He was one of the best and continued to work until his passing. His last years were spent drilling and blasting in Chetwynd, B.C. working for his long-time friend, Jack Ganson.
Bob was a private, generous, humorous and loving man who was a mentor to many throughout the years. He was so very proud of his family and loved them all dearly. He will be missed enormously by all who knew him.
