With the greatest sadness we've ever felt, we share that our loving husband, Daddy, and Papa passed away on December 9, 2017. Bob showed us strength, courage, and the grandest love in the world.
Predeceased by his brother Horace; Bob is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Julie; daughters Roberta (Duncan) and Diana (Bradley); grandchildren Breanne, Aiden, Darrah, and Renee; sisters Mary Ann (Gilles) Savard and Sherry Lee (Mike McMaster); brothers-in-law Bruce (Marianne) and Larry (Mona), his Uncle Jim and Auntie June from Moosejaw, SK, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Bob was the second of four children born to his parents, Charles and Margaret, and grew up in the same place his parents were born, Springhill, NS. After moving to Port Alberni, Bob began his over 30 year career in the Sproat Lake Division. He was an extremely hard worker and retired as a grader operator.
After retirement, he was able to continue his hobby of fresh and saltwater fishing. Bob's true passion in life was his family. He was a loving and devoted husband and father, and shared special bonds with both of his daughters and sons-in-law.
Bob was extremely proud of his four grandchildren and loved spending quality time with each of them. Bob was also very close to his siblings and was very thankful that he recently had visits with his sisters, Mary Ann and Sherry, and was able to spend time with his brother, Horace, before he passed.
He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, especially close friends, Kathy and Dennis.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 293, 4680 Victoria Quay, Port Alberni, BC.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's memory may be made to Ty Watson House, 2649 2nd, Port Alberni, BC V9Y 1Z8.
