June 7, 1964 - April 12, 2022
Rob was born June 7, 1964 and died suddenly of a heart attack on April 12, 2022.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife and best friend of 32 years, Jennifer Hubbard, his sons Rab, Alex and Cam Hunter, and his siblings, Cameron Hunter (Florence), Mary Blachut (Piotr), Catherine Hunter (Gary) and many friends. Rob was predeceased by his parents, Diane and Rab Hunter of North Bay, Ontario.
Rob grew up in North Bay, Ontario and moved out to the west coast with Jennifer in 1994 to practice law. Rob was a forester, lawyer and, most recently, avid gardener. Rob acted as a lawyer and in-house counsel on Vancouver Island. He spent many years enjoying curling and spending time with friends, many of whom he met while on the Qualicum Beach Fire Department.
Rob's greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his boys and his nieces and nephews. In his off work hours, he loved everything outdoors, whether it was on the water, in the mountains, or hiking through forests. He will be remembered for his love for his family and friends, his sense of humor and quick wit, and his wide array of hobbies.
Above all else, Rob was a dreamer. To sleep, perchance to dream... For in that sleep of death what dreams may come...Knowing Rob, those dreams will be fantastic, far-fetched, and ultimately, attainable.
Rather than flowers, it is requested that you please make donations to a charity of your choice.
A celebration of life is planned for Saturday May 14 from 1-4pm at the Qualicum Beach Inn, 2690 Island Highway West, Qualicum Beach, British Columbia.
