It is with a heavy heart that we make known the passing of our wonderful loving father Bob (Robert) Wattie. Bob passed away on the 15th of April 2018 in his own home.

Bob had been battling the effects of dementia for the past decade. It was the family's great joy to ensure a safe, familiar environment for Bob which allowed him to remain in his home which he loved so much.

This was possible, due in part, to the compassionate efforts of Shelley and Marilu, two wonderful women that helped provide assistance for us as we all sought to maintain bob's dignity and joy in life. This goal was met to the last day, thank you Shelley and Marilu.

There was not a day that Bob failed to comment to us about his gratefulness and joy of being in his own home. Daily, Bob would sit in his familiar spot by the living room window reading his newspaper. He would frequently wave to the neighbours and passersby as they walked down the street. Bob enjoyed people, and he enjoyed visiting and talking with people, and despite his challenges he maintained excellent communication skills till the end.

Bob and Bev Wattie lived in the same home since the early fifties and as such knew a great number of people within Campbell River. Bob retired after a long career with Elk Falls and was involved with many community organizations over the years such as the Salmon Festival and the Tide Mark Theater.

We were blessed to have such a wonderful Dad, he was excellent, and we miss him greatly. Yet, we say so long for now, for we will be together again very soon. We will gather in the greatest family reunion ever; thank you Lord Jesus.

We will see you then Dad, and grandpa, we love you!

-Linda, Craig, Doug, Shelley, Megan and Ben.

There will be a celebration of life for Bob on Tuesday, April 24th, 2018, at 1 pm.

This time of celebration of Bob's life will be held at the Campbell River Baptist Church, which is located at 260 South Dogwood Street.
