December 11, 1965 - July 22, 2019
We are deeply heartbroken to announce that Bob Koschack, age 53 has passed away suddenly from a Pulmonary Embolism. Bob spent his last weekend on a beautiful father/daughter sailing trip of a lifetime with his beloved daughter, cherished best friend Brian, and his lovely daughter Emily from Nanoose Bay to Hornby Island.
Bob was born in Comox, BC on December 11, 1965 and is survived by parents Werner and Inge Koschack, growing up in their family home on Miracle Beach Drive with his elder sister Karin. Bob was raised in Black Creek with close family and friends, playing in the Comox Valley Minor Hockey league throughout his childhood.
Bob graduated from Vanier Secondary School and spent time in college creating wild memories. Bob returned home to Black Creek, marrying the mother of his children. Having worked at Myra Falls Mine for the past 32 years, Bob's dedication and passion really shined and made the Mine a better place.
Bob's legacy lives on in his children, Tajana and Kolby. He was a proud father who supported his children's dreams and showed them a love that will last forever. The endless family home videos leave lasting memories of beach days, birthdays and countless hugs, kisses, and tickle fights that Bob would never win. From being Kolby's past hockey coach and recent gardening partner to Tajana's drinking buddy, best friend and sailing partner to the end. He will be forever cherished by his children. Bob is also survived by his nephew, Michael who was a consistent support and friend.
Bob always loved being surrounded by his family and friends. Competing in the annual Snow to Surf competition for over 30 years with his closest friends. Those who loved Bob know that he was always the practical joker; from pestering his sister, playing practical jokes on his family or being the life of the party with his friends. Bob's presence, friendship and care for his family will be deeply missed.
A 'Celebration of Bob' will be held on Saturday, August 17th at 2 pm at the Black Creek Community Hall. Come help us celebrate 'Bob style' as we commemorate his life.
