On Tuesday October 23, 2018, Robert (Bob) Campbell passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Evelyn; His children Lynnda (Ray); John (Andrea); His grandchildren Taryn; Kristin (Lorne); and Amber; Great Grand-daughters Kadence and Aynslee; and his Brother Joseph (Norma) and family.

Dad grew up in Saskatchewan, where he loved riding horses and working with cattle on the family ranch.

Bob joined the army in 1941. He fought at D-Day, throughout France, Belgium and Holland. He was wounded two months prior to the end of the war. Bob received a great honour, when the French Government awarded him the Legion of Honour.

After Mom and Dad were married, they lived in Victoria. Dad worked a few different jobs, before starting his career with the Department of National Defense , where he worked until retirement in 1981.

Dad had many passions, including: gardening, working with his horses, and community involvement. Another one of Dad's passions was playing cards. He especially looked forward to his trips to Reno and Las Vegas, along with his crib night at the Legion.

Bob loved his family, numerous friends, and neighbours. He truly valued all of his friends and really enjoyed having them drop in for a coffee (or beverage of their choice).

He had a great sense of humor and loved to tease. He was also always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Dad also loved his sports. He was always watching the Jays; Lions; and Canucks. Although he was able to see the Jays and Lions win championships, he always held out hope for the Canucks.

Dad will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Celebration of Life will be held March 3, 2019 from 1pm-4pm at the Royal Canadian Legion, 761 Station Avenue, Victoria, BC.
