July 11, 1940 - June 11, 2020
Very sad to announce Bob's passing after a brief stay in hospital. Survived by his wife of 58 years Carol, son Brent Brucker (Marie), daughter Karen Moore (David) and grandchildren Adam and Aimee.
He was as tough as they come - old school to a fault, and a friend to many.
Bob spent 33 years in the RCMP with stops in Meadow Lake, Regina, Saskatoon, North Battleford, and Ottawa, eventually retiring in White Rock, BC in 1992.
Bob and Carol moved to the Comox Valley in 1998 so they could be close to their grandchildren. Grandpa Bob was immensely proud of his grand-babes, cheering them on and supporting them in their endeavors, whether sports or music. As he did with his own kids, he instilled in them a solid work ethic, and encouraged them to always strive to do their best.
A natural athlete, Bob was an accomplished and highly respected curler in his day. As Skip, his teams won 6 provincial police curling championships throughout the 70's and early 80's, twice being crowned Canadian champions.
Whether at work or at home, Bob never took a day off in his life. A self-taught Jack of all trades, he was happiest when he was busy. Throughout his life, he took pride in staying connected with friends and family, never missing a chance to send birthday wishes or congratulations for special events.
"Always loved, already missed, and forever in our hearts.
Rest easy strong man."
