Dick passed away peacefully at Dufferin Place on May 24, 2022. He is predeceased by his loving wife, Margaret, and survived by his four children: Kathy Schroter (Perry), Greg Paterson (Michele), Murray Brandback (Tammy), and Dale Brandback (Diane).
Dick was born and raised in Fanny Bay, B.C. He met Margaret and settled with her in Lantzville, B.C. He loved camping, fishing and hunting. He passed on his love for the outdoors to his children.
Dick spent most of his career as a pipefitter working at Harmac. He enjoyed his retirement days by playing golf and travelling. He loved to have a good time and was always the life of the party.
Dick was the proud grandpa of Richard, Shauna, Kenton, Brad, Cameron, Jaimie, Shandell, Shalen, Daylan, Luke, Paige, Jordan and Deven and was lovingly known as "Gramps". Dick was very blessed to also have 11 great grand- children.
Our family would like to thank Bryan, nurse practitioner, and all of the staff at Dufferin place. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Nanaimo Hospital Foundation.
A private family gathering will be held in Dick's honour.
