Richard passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 3rd 2019 at Arohanui Hospice in Palmerston North, New Zealand surrounded by family. Age 58 & after a short battle with cancer. Devoted Father to Matthew Campbell of Victoria, BC, and Tori Campbell of Levin, New Zealand. Cherished son of the late Ron and Lila Campbell. Treasured son-in-law to Bill and Vicky Huxham. He will be greatly missed by his brother and brother-in-law, Anne and Philip Richdale, Jennifer Thompson, Dorothy and Simon Nixon, Jim and Sue Campbell, Linda and the late Mike Scott, George and Helen Campbell, Eve and Paul Francis, Mike and Terri Huxham, Ken Huxham and Ali Ferguson, and the mother to his children, Kelly Huxham.
Richard was born in Turakina, Wanganui, New Zealand in 1960. He grew up on the family sheep farm, as the youngest of 8. He became a ticketed Journeyman in Carpentry and Joinery in 1982, travelled to Canada in 1993, married in 1994 and started a family in 1995. Richard was a highly skilled and respected cabinet maker for many years in Campbell River, where he and his wife, Kelly Huxham owned and operated Kelric Kitchens & Millwork. Richard became a Canadian Citizen in 2013. He moved back to his home of New Zealand in November of 2018.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Black Creek Hall on Saturday, March 30th @ 2 pm.
