August 5, 1949 - May 8, 2020
On Friday, May 08th, 2020, Richard Daniel Mason, loving husband to Louise, loving father to Alexander and Paula, loving father-in-law to Jennifer and loving grandfather to Daniel and Cassandra, ended his valient, long battle with cancer. He will be sorely missed but kept alive and loved in all of our hearts.
Richard was born on August 05th, 1949 in Co. Dublin, Ireland, one of 12 siblings. In 1991 he settled on Vancouver Island with his wife and two children. He came to be well known in the building supply industry in the Cowichan Valley where, with excellent customer service, a twinkle in his eye and a quick wit he warmed the hearts of co-workers, clients and friends alike.
Richard enjoyed a game of golf for recreation, often with his good friend, Bill. He also loved to garden and tend to his beautiful roses.
His ashes will be laid to rest at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, Cedar, BC in a beautiful setting on Friday, May 15th, 2020. Only immediate family will attend. After restrictions have been lifted a Celebration of Life will be organized for family and invited friends.
