February 5, 1945 - February 20, 2021
Jordan passed away peacefully at NRGH. He was predeceased by his parents Arthur John and Zelma Stella Ellis, and is survived by his sister Patricia Bremner of Nanaimo.
Jordan came into this world in Strasbourg, Sask, moved at a young age to BC, spent his halcyon school years in Penticton, and continued afterwards excelling in many sports including semi-pro football, half-marathons, and rugby, which took him around the world.
After graduating from Simon Fraser University, Jordan joined BC Corrections as a Parole Officer and Family Court Counselor while living in Abbotsford.
Jordan then felt a higher calling and became ordained as a Unity Church Minister in 1989, followed by service to Unity churches in Oregon, Montana, Mississauga Ontario and Nanaimo.
Jordan was happiest in silent contemplation, doing stained glass, and going for drives in his Mustang. But he also enjoyed the exhilaration of riding his bicycle, which he did right up to a couple of years ago.
Having a passion for a sustainable environment, Jordan worked with the Green Party and International Composting.
The family extends sincere gratitude to Jordan's long time friend Reinhold, home care assistant Shannon, Dr. Pereira and the dedicated staff at NRGH for their kind support in Jordan's declining months.
"Well done, good and faithful servant... a beloved child of God in whom She is well pleased."
Donations (Give in honour) would be appreciated in the name of Rev Jordan Ellis to the Heart & Stroke Foundation BC and Yukon. https://www.heartandstroke.ca/how-you-can-help/ways-to-give
