In loving memory ~

Rev. Ronald Ernest Macluskie passed away on June 26, 2024, at the age of 79, shortly before his 55th anniversary with his wife, Dannita. Born in Strasbourg, Saskatchewan, he was the son of Rev. William Jardine and Audrey Kathleen Macluskie. He is survived by his sister, Kathleen (McAlister) Ian, and sisters-in-law Donna Lee and Donna, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

From a young age, Ron felt called to ministry. He worked with Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship in Peterborough, Ontario before moving to Toronto for a Human Resources role. Although being offered corporate advancements, he pursued a Master of Divinity in Chicago and later served as a Baptist minister in Calgary and Edmonton.

Returning to Nanaimo, Ron served as Chaplain at the Nanaimo Correctional Centre and was ordained in the Anglican Church. After retirement, he became an Honorary Assistant at Christ Church Cathedral in Victoria, beloved for his warm presence and commitment to ministry.

Ron enjoyed sailing around Vancouver Island, indulged his passion for motorcycles, and cherished family camping trips. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Dannita, their children Aaron, Kathleen (Chris), and Andrew (Marina), grandchildren Jordan, Rachel, Nadia, Tobias, Elyse, Kira, Andi, Luca, and great-grandson Ezra.
