Born in Crystal Falls, ON to John and Josephine Crottey. Ray joined the RCAF at 18 and proudly served for 25 years. Following his military career, Ray worked as a movie projectionist, moving to the Attorney Generals office, ending his career as Dep. Director of Film Classification Board.

Ray was a proud member to the Royal Canadian Legion for 47 years. In his retirement, he enjoyed aviation, building several ultra-lite aircrafts. He loved RV'ing, travelling the world, and growing veggies.

Ray chose to leave this world on his terms, peacefully, after a battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loved ones.

Ray is survived by his lifelong companion Audrey, sons: Dave (Carol), Mike (Lisa), and Tim (Rebecca). His grandchildren; Megan, Matt, Liam, Meara, Jett, Max, and Declan.

There will be a Poppy Service at Branch 17 Legion on April 7, 2019 at 1 pm.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Konway and Dr. Reggler.
