In Loving Memory ~
Grant was born in Nanaimo to Raymond and Mildred Faganello, and was preceded in death by his brothers Ron and Norman, his son Wade and is survived by his wife Mona (nee Foulds) and their children, Tony (Bonnie), Lori (Vince) and Dale, his grandchildren Amber, Tara, Cameron, Ryan, Katrina, Nicholas and Sonya and his five great-grandchildren.
Grant loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing in his early life and instilled in us a respect for the natural world. He and Mona enjoyed camping for many years as well as music and dance, especially line dancing. He was passionate about sports, especially his favorite teams and played hockey, lacrosse, baseball, and soccer growing up and coached too many players to count in his years with Duncan Junior Baseball and Cowichan Valley Soccer.
He was an avid (and still active) bowler through the winter, which he and Mona did together for many years and loved to golf every summer and passed on his love for both to his family.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses who cared for Grant and especially the home care team who made it possible for him to return home briefly before his passing. Grant's memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him and the family will have a private gathering to celebrate his life.
Grant was a true testament to the benefit of staying active and loved working with youth. If you would like to honor Grant in some way, please consider supporting local youth sport organizations in the Cowichan Valley.
