It is with sadness that the family of Ray Stewart announce his passing on October 13, 2018. Ray was born in Nanaimo on December 9, 1936. He was in the Canadian Armed Forces for 10 years, before returning back to Nanaimo to run a barber shop and then working for BC Tel for 25 years. Ray was predeceased by his parents, George and Irene, his brother Doug, and his wife Helen. He is survived by his brother Dan, his sisters, Donna Murphy, Terry Dekuyper and Marie Bohn, his daughter Sharon Barker, his sons Rick, Dean, and Dave, grandchildren Mathew, Kyla, Kathryn, Heather, Meagan, Adam, Alicia, Evan, Montanna, Boston, and Walker, great grandchildren Emily, McKenna, Bennett, Huxley, as well as many nieces and nephews. Ray will be missed by his family, many friends, co-workers, and around the campfire.

Ray was a humble man who was always there to help out his family and friends. He enjoyed life outdoors and was often out camping, hunting, and fishing with them. He loved to cheer on the Canucks, the Lions, the Seahawks, the Mounties/ Canadians, and Tiger Woods.

There will be a celebration of life for Ray at the Nanaimo Golf Club on Sunday November 11, 2018 at 11 am- 3 pm.
