In loving memory ~
Lloyd, dear husband, father of four and Grandpa of "five pretty girls", passed away on Christmas Day after a brief battle with an aggressive leukaemia.
Lloyd was born in Moncton, NB on 9 January 1941 and was pre-deceased by his parents Ralph and Nelly Matthews, his son Daniel Victor (1965- 1991) as well as Dan's wife (Cathy), and his son Albert Gardner (Joey) (1964-2016). Left to mourn his passing are his brother Dan (Leslie), his wife Valerie of almost 60 years, son Kevin and his wife Evelyn and granddaughters Alia, Thea and Quinn, Lloyd's daughter Susan, and daughter-in-law Carmen and granddaughters Nicole and Kayla, as well as many in-laws, cousins and friends.
Lloyd had a 37 year career with the RCAF and also worked as a carpenter and commissionaire. He was a member of 888 Wing Comox where he enjoyed his weekly beer and visit with his friends. Lloyd and Valerie retired in the Comox Valley where he spent many happy days in his rose garden and forest. We will miss his love and sense of humour forever.
There will be no service at Lloyd's request. We will have a family gathering and celebration of life in the spring. Donations to the BC Cancer Society in lieu of flowers would be appreciated.
