The Mann family is sad to announce the passing of Quinby Lionel Mann on November 29, 2018 at the age of 95.

Quin was predeceased by his beloved wife Ruth, and youngest son Les. Plus Father Percy, Mother Marjorie and Brothers Ronnie & Jack

Quin is survived by children: Chris (Wendy), Brian (Vicki), Bill (Bonnie), Judy (Terry) Bayes, Richard ( Nanci ) and daughter-in-law, Lana. 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Sisters Cherry, Bryce, Gail & Monie.

Quin grew up in rural Saskatchewan as the son of an RCMP Officer. He enlisted early in WWII and was a Dispatch Rider #2 Recovery R.C.E.M.E. Upon his return home, he fell in love and married Ruth (nee: Chowaniec) and started a family. In 1951 Quin and Ruth packed up their three children and moved west to settle in Duncan. He worked for the Cowichan Creamery, Island Freight, and Sands Funeral Chapel and was also a volunteer ambulance driver for the Duncan Kiwanis, plus, he became (The Voice of the Valley) for Chief's football games.

Quin retired in 1988, after 29 years of service as the Bar Manager at the Duncan Legion Branch 53.

Quin lived at Sherwood Place and later became a resident at Broadmead Veterans Memorial Lodge, he was a favorite resident of the staff in both places. They all enjoyed his sense of humour, his smile and his personality.

The Mann family is extremely grateful for the kindness and compassionate care the staff showed Quin over the past few years.

A celebration of life will be held on December 16, 2018 at the Duncan Meadows Golf Course, 6507 North Rd., Duncan, at 1pm.
