Phyllis Mae Stewart Partlow

September 21, 2019

February 18, 1940 - September 21, 2019
On Saturday September 21st, 2019, Phyllis Mae Stewart Partlow, loving wife and mother of four children, passed away at age 79 in her home in Parksville, BC.
Phyllis was born in Bezanson, AB, to Olive (Norton) and Morris Stewart, and attended East Kleskun School through grade 9, frequently on horseback as we were occasionally reminded. She moved to Grande Prairie to study and completed her high school education there. She initially worked as a telephone switchboard operator, but her life's work is best described as managing the Partlow Family Farm after marrying Donald in 1961 and settling in the Flying Shot Lake area. They farmed there for 35 years but eventually sought a more temperate climate and retired on Vancouver Island.
Phyllis emanated grit, honesty and determination in her everyday life, and instilled those ideals in everyone around her. She had deep rooted family values and loved large spirited gatherings, often with her at the head of the table. She was known and appreciated for her unwavering disposition, her generosity and her lemon meringue pie; all of which will be greatly missed.
She leaves behind her husband Donald, her children Eric, Afton, Erynn, and Ron along with their spouses, a troop of granddaughters, her Brother Harvey, his wife Valerie Stewart, sister in-law Lorraine Church and family, and many other members of her large extended family tree.
A service celebrating her life will be held at Yates Memorial Services, Parksville, BC at 11:00 am on November 3rd.
