Peter passed away peacefully at home with his wife and son by his side.
He was born in Cambridge England and after a tour in the Royal Navy serving as a radar operator, Peter along with his parents and siblings moved to South Africa. Then in 1954 he immigrated to Canada where in Toronto he met and married his wife Doreen.
Many of Peter's years were happily spent in Lindsay where he was very active in the community. A member of the Kiwanis Club, Peter was involved in many events such as their annual musical stage shows and also in local hockey, as a great statistician.
Upon retirement he achieved a dream of moving to Vancouver Island, making Nanoose Bay and then Parksville home. Here he spent his time gardening, walking his dog Misty, enjoying the neighbourhoods and volunteering with the therapeutic riding association.
He is survived by his wife Doreen of nearly 62 years, sons John & Craig, grandchildren Dennis, Avril, Adam, great grandson Jagger and predeceased by brothers' Tony and David, sister Daphne and daughter Colleen.
Our sincerest thanks to the VIHA nurses and care aides who helped ease his final days.
At his request there will be no service. A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date when all family members can be present.
