Peter Puttonen, 76, of Nanaimo passed away at the Nanaimo Hospital on February 13, 2020. He was predeceased by his parents, Lauri and Valma Puttonen and is survived by his life partner Bernice, his son Alex (Danielle) and daughter Katharine. Peter was born in Finland and came to Canada at the age of 8.
He had a career in Vancouver as a technician in broadcasting and consumer electronics until his retirement in 2000 when he continued to be involved in computer technology and photography; skills valued by the Nanaimo Lawn Bowling Club.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Sands Funeral Chapel on Saturday, February 22 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Agency or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
