July 27, 2021
Pete passed away peacefully in Nanaimo on July 27, 2021.
He is survived by Susanne (Doug) Carroll, Dave (Kathy) Roberts and Christine (aka Crick) Roberts, grandkids John Roberts, Mark Roberts, Nina Carroll and Chet Carroll and 6 great grandkids. Pete was very proud of his grandkids and the great grandkids always put a smile on his face. They will miss their Poppa Pete!
Pete is predeceased by his wife Nora and his companion and partner of the last several years, Leona Green.
Pete loved the outdoors and had a passion for fishing, hunting and swimming. He enjoyed the companionship of many like-minded friends and as an active member of the Parksville- Qualicum Beach Fish and Game Association, he could often be found at the Dorman Range, probably 'shooting the breeze' as much as shooting a shotgun!
Pete proudly served during WW2 in the Royal Canadian Navy on-board the HMCS Sioux. As he got older he took great pleasure in sharing stories about his experiences during the war, especially with young people.
Many thanks to the NRGH Transition Unit doctors and staff and Dr. Otte and the Palliative Care team for your care, compassion and support for Pete and his family. Very much appreciated!
There will be no service by request. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Nanaimo Hospital Foundation.
