August 2, 1920 - May 30, 2020
Passed peacefully at home on May 30, 2020 at the age of 99 with his partner Judith at his side.
Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on August 2, 1920 to George and Edith Reeve. He is predeceased by his Mom, Dad, four brothers, one sister, his wife, Mary Elizabeth and eldest daughter, Barbara. Left to celebrate his life are his partner, Judith, his daughters Patricia (Tom), Janet (Allan), grandchildren Christine, Peter, Jessica, Steve and Nathan, and many nieces and nephews.
Peter has a long and interesting life. He was an officer in the Canadian army during World War II. At one point during the war he acted as the major of a small Italian town! Peter maintained a sense of discipline through-out his life - something that the army likely taught him. He had a basic rule - never more than two martinis! Veterans Affairs was very helpful in providing assistance that allowed Peter to remain at home during the last years of his life. Peter had a successful career in the insurance industry. He was an entrepreneur who loved business and the stock market. He also had a love of sailing and golf. Peter will probably best be remembered for his sense of humour and ability to play jokes on people.
We would like to give special thanks to Dr. Malherbe for his very attentive care of Peter, his Nephew Brian for his unfailing love, weekly phone calls and numerous visits, special friends Duncan, Joan, Linda and Peter who visited regularly and our special private homecare team, Stephan, Barbara, Brenda, Debbie, Roberta, Marita and Shirley for their 24 hour care assisting Judith especially over the last few months. Peter lived a good life. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
