It is with a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Penelope Julia Fratpietro on August 22, 2020 with her loving husband and family by her side.
She is pre-deceased by her mother Sophie and her father Mike.
She is survived by her beloved husband Philip of 56 years, sister Brenda (Ron), daughters Carmelina (Tom), Lisa (Paul), and Christy-Ann (Barry), grandchildren Jaden, Reid, Colm, Lucca and step grandchildren Stefanie and Diana.
Penelope and Phillip moved to Nanaimo, BC in 1973 from Thunder Bay, Ont. where she trained as a nurse. Her career continued in Nanaimo. She will always be remembered as a loving and kind individual, extraordinary cook, and a creative sole who always had a solution to any problem. Penelope was member of the Cavallotti Lodge.
We are all very grateful to Dr. Lohorish for her tremendous expertise and professionalism and to the staff of the Nanaimo Palliative Care Unit.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Peters Roman Catholic Church in Nanaimo, BC by invitation on September 4, 2020.
A Celebration of Life where we can all come together safely will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the BC Cancer Foundation to support breast cancer research in her remembrance would be appreciated.
