Pearl passed away peacefully at home in The Views November 25 at the age of 89.

Born April 16, 1928, the oldest of 4 siblings, she was proud to call Cumberland her hometown from the time she moved there at one month old.

While working her first job as a telephone operator she met Roy when he placed a call home to Nova Scotia. He asked her on a date and they were married shortly after in July 1946. He took his "Penny" home to Halifax where they raised 4 children and their granddaughter. They returned to Cumberland in 1980 to be close to her Mom and Dad.

"Pearlie-May" was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #28 Ladies Auxiliary, Eastern Star, Pythian Sisters, Rebekkahs And the Cumberland OAP. She loved children and was honored to be called "Auntie" and "Nan" by so many of the Cumberland kids.

Pearl joins her mother and father Julianna and Frank Brown, brother Bob Broun, niece Tracey Williams and husband Roy Sr.

She is survived by brother Frank Brown (Delores), sister Mary Harrison, sons Gerald, Paul and Little Roy (Rhonda) and daughter Jackie (Rick), grandchildren Curtis (Kathy), Aaron, Angie, Rick, Greg and Tiffany as well as the great grandchildren and nieces and nephews that she loved so much.

Celebration of Life will be held December 16th at the Cumberland OAP Hall (Cultural Centre downstairs) from 1pm to 3 pm.

A very special thank you from all of us to the amazing staff at The Views for all the love, compassion, playful teasing and care given over the last few years. You made it her home.
